Costume Suggestions:

'Primus' tunica [TN06] 'Plautilla' chiton [RB08] Penannular fibula [BR01]

This is a rectangular cloak or veil in a soft pale green chenille.

A ubiquitous garment, this would be suitable for just about any pre-Christian culture such as Celtic, Viking, Greek, Roman or Biblical. It can be worn in a number of ways. It is shown here draped over the left shoulder and under the right arm, but could also be pinned with a brooch or clasp. Please see the accessories section.

In many cultures it was considered seemly for a married woman to cover her head in public, so the back part of his veil can be drawn over the head as shown, to give the very elegant effect often seen in statuary.

This item has a fringe along the two longer edges and serves very well to keep out the draughts when worn in colder climates. It is seen here with 'Primus' tunica and 'Plautilla' chiton as part of an outfit for a large, open-air Nativity Pageant.
